James H. Van Hoof, Jr. is a seasoned executive and board leader with more than three decades of experience guiding organizations through growth, restructuring, and complex transformation. His background spans public companies, private equity–backed enterprises, venture-backed technology firms, and nonprofit institutions.
Mr. Van Hoof has held C-suite roles including Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Tax Officer, with responsibility for enterprise operations, capital markets transactions, M&A, global supply chains, governance, and risk management. He has led or advised transactions exceeding $3B in aggregate value, including SPAC mergers, large-scale project financings, and global d divestitures.
He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Saint Anselm College, where he is Treasurer and a three-term Chair of the Finance Committee, overseeing financial strategy, endowment management, and institutional risk. He also served for over 20 years on the board of Special Olympics Connecticut, including as Chairman of the Board and Chair of the Finance and Development Committees, and was inducted into the Special Olympics Hall of Fame.
Mr. Van Hoof brings particular expertise in finance, audit oversight, governance, operational scaling, and energy and industrial markets. He is frequently sought as a trusted advisor to boards, CEOs, and investors during periods of strategic change.
He holds an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law, a J.D. from Western New England University School of Law, an M.S. in Taxation from the University of Hartford, and a B.A. from Saint Anselm College. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar.
